Valorant Episode 9 Act 2: New Agent, Map Rework & Balance Changes

Riot Games drops a massive update with a brand-new duelist agent, a complete overhaul of Bind, and sweeping balance changes that shake up the competitive meta heading into the next VCT season.

Valorant's Episode 9 Act 2 is one of the most substantial updates Riot Games has released, and it's set to completely reshape the competitive landscape ahead of the next VCT season.

The new agent, Spectre, is a duelist with a unique kit built around sound manipulation. Her signature ability creates a zone of silence that blocks enemy audio cues, while her ultimate allows her to become temporarily invisible while moving at reduced speed — a nightmare for defenders.

Bind has received its most significant rework since launch. The teleporters now have a brief cooldown after use, and several key angles have been adjusted to reduce defender-sided advantages. Early community feedback suggests the changes have made the map significantly more balanced.

On the balance front, Chamber has received yet another nerf to his Headhunter, while Jett's Tailwind has been buffed with a slightly longer activation window. Sage's Barrier Orb cost has been increased, which should reduce her prevalence in professional play.
